Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) announced the release of its newest assets: state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) scanners.

These advanced medical tools mark a considerable advancement in elevating healthcare services and infrastructure for Filipino children. With the availability of MRI and CT services, thousands of patients can now benefit from enhanced diagnostic capabilities at PCMC.

Through the collaborative efforts of Senators Bong Go, Pia Cayetano, and Sonny Angara, they were able to secure funding for the state-of-the art medical equipment – with Sen. Go being the chair of the Senate Committee on Health, Sen. Cayetano as Vice Chairperson, and Sen. Angara as the lead of the Finance Committee.

The introduction of the country’s first MRI TESLA and the upgraded CT scan represents a significant advancement, as it enhances patient capacity and yields clearer imaging.

Senator Cayetano highlighted the transformative impact of the new MRI and CT scanners on pediatric healthcare at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) during the unveiling ceremony.

She emphasized, “These would allow us to serve more children and help our medical personnel diagnose their patients faster and better.”

Cayetano also stressed the importance of ensuring that public hospitals like PCMC have access to advanced diagnostic tools, aiming to bridge healthcare disparities and provide top-tier care for all Filipino children.

Furthermore, the PCMC’s radiology division underwent its first renovation in 40 years, thanks to the initiatives of these lawmakers.
